This blogpost is a brief summary of the book titled “The Psychology of Money”, by Morgan Housel.

The following mindmaps summarize the main points from the book

Takeaway

The book is written about finance and investing but I think the points are applicable to many other endeavors. After all it is about human psychology and we carry the same biases when we are making decisions about mutual fund or deciding about our career or any kind of decision making or deciding on strategies to learn something. This book was recommended a year ago but somehow had been putting it off thinking that it might not be too relevant. I was pleasantly surprised that there are many points in the book that are applicable beyond financial investing. It is a quick read and hence it might be worthwhile spending an afternoon on this book and mulling over the contents.
