I encountered a strange incident today. As I was leaving Bangalore, there was a need to move my stuff back to Hyderabad. I had called up one of the local packers and movers service in bangalore, one with door to door service, which means they land up at your place, pack all the things that you want to ship to your destination, and deliver at the destination . The charges for the services were definitely high.

What caught my attention was a casual question by the service person, rather it was meant to be casual..“Sir, what should be the actual bill that I need to be giving you ?”  I didn’t understand for a sec. Later he explained me that it is a common practice for people to get a higher quote for the relocation expense so that they can claim the same from their respective / prospective firms. Worst of all, the service personnel was taking a percentage commission on the bloated bill..

If such corrupt practices become so well entrenched in the society that it becomes a part of the system / process, it is a pretty sad story!!.
