What the google founders have done differently:
1.Inventing a search engine when everyone knew search was dead
2.Building a business on Internet advertising when everyone knew it was impossible;
3.Antagonizing two revered VCs whose rings they should have been kissing
4.Going for a dutch auction in the IPO

With a market cap of 500Billion USD it will be interesting to see what the google’s future shapes up. Seth Godin has put a compilation of suggestions given by a lot of people about Google’s future. The gist of the suggestions are nicely summarized in a blog entry at Brand Autopsy

Year 2006: The Google Grid

Year 2014: Welcome to the EPIC World
